So, you think you’d retire one day and save for those days and all that blah blah..?
Do you know that you don’t need to?
You just need to find out the work that you love and find out a way to make a living doing that work.
Yesterday I read a post on Cultural Offering. The post stated 14 great life lessons. While all the lessons were good to read and learn from, I liked #14 the most:
“Never retire. If you work forever, you can live forever. I know there is an abundance of biological evidence against this theory, but I’m going with it anyway.”
Consider for example: have you ever thought of retiring from listening to music or eating your favorite recipe dish?
Never, right?
Why so? It’s simple. You want to get retired from the activity that you have to do but you DON’T want to do if given an option.
You create your life. You define your options. You already have permission to create your own life. Read this short post from Seth Godin and see if you get what Seth has conveyed in just a few words.
You don’t need an invitation to lead and make a difference, you already have that permission!
Splendid thought, isn’t it?
You think of retiring when you are fed up from what you’re doing. If you don’t like your work but still do it because you have to then you feel fed up. But if you love your work then why to retire?
Retirement is not an option if…
…if you are inseparable from your work. Think about your work and if it is not the case, then you might want to do something.
