“Honest disagreement is often a good sign of progress.” ~ Gandhi
For most people, disagreements are difficult to handle. It makes them feel bad so they keep it off. Hiding it under the carpet, hoping it will somehow resolve itself. Didn’t they know that nothing matters but actions, of the right kind, of course?
Here’s my take on disagreements:
“Disagreement is but an opportunity for emergence and to deepen the relationship with everyone involved.”
Every disagreement carries within a possibility to learn and become a better individual. Every disagreement – whether with a family member or a colleague – is an opportunity to establish an even better relationship with them by turning their discontent into a delight.
So don’t run from disagreement. Instead, embrace it. Savor the voltage it carries. Lionize it.
