We are trained to wait.
-
School: “Don’t speak until you raise your hand.”
-
College: “Don’t study X until you have the prerequisite Y.”
-
Corporate: “Don’t launch the project until the Steering Committee approves.”
This conditioning creates a Permission Mindset. We believe that for every action, there must be an Authorizing Figure who says “Go.”
The Reality of the Wild
In the wild (Entrepreneurship, Art, High-Level Leadership), there are no Authorizing Figures. There is no “Committee of Success” that grants you the license to be great.
-
If you wait for a publisher to pick you, you are a “Waiter.”
-
If you self-publish and build an audience, you are a “Player.”
The Green Light Delusion
Most people spend their lives waiting for a Green Light that doesn’t exist.
-
“I’ll start the business when the economy is better.”
-
“I’ll lead the team when I get the promotion.”
The Truth: You don’t get the promotion to let you lead. You get the promotion because you already led. Action precedes Authority.
The Protocol: Permissionless Leverage
Stop asking: “Can I do this?” Start asking: “Who is going to stop me?”
1. The “Draft” Maneuver Don’t ask your boss: “Can we rewrite the marketing strategy?” (They will say: “Let’s have a meeting.”) Instead, rewrite it on Saturday. Send it on Monday: “I had an idea and sketched this out. It’s 80% done. Should we ship it?” It is impossible to ignore finished work.
2. The Credential Trap Don’t wait for the degree.
-
Don’t get an MBA to learn business. Start a business.
-
Don’t get a certificate to learn coding. Build an app. The market values Portfolios over Diplomas.
#DhandheKaFunda: The world gives you exactly what you ask for. If you ask for permission, it gives you a “No.” If you ask for forgiveness, it gives you a “Wow.”
