Steve Jobs said: “Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.” This is the most important algorithm for a Sovereign life.
Most people do not think. They execute scripts written by others.
-
Script: “Go to college to get a good job.” (Written by: 1950s Industrialists).
-
Script: “Buy a house to build wealth.” (Written by: Banks).
-
Script: “Retire at 65.” (Written by: The Government).
This is Dogma. It is “Compiled Code.” You can run it, but you cannot change it. And often, the code is buggy, outdated, or malicious.
The First Principles Protocol
To escape the Dogma Trap, you must stop running the .exe and start looking at the Source Code. This is First Principles Thinking.
1. Identify the Assumption (The Dogma)
-
Statement: “I need $2M to start a hardware company.”
-
Source: “Everyone says hardware is hard.”
2. Break it Down (The Physics)
-
What is the fundamental truth?
-
Truth: I need a prototype (plastic and metal). I need a PCB (silicon).
-
Cost: 3D printing = $50. Arduino = $20. Coding = Free.
-
Reality: I need $100 and a weekend, not $2M.
3. Reconstruct (The Innovation)
-
Once you see the raw materials, you can build a new solution that ignores the “Standard Procedure.”
-
This is how Elon Musk built SpaceX. (Dogma: Rockets are expensive. Physics: Aluminum and fuel are cheap).
The Courage to be “Wrong” When you reject Dogma, you will look “crazy” to the people running the old scripts.
-
They will say: “That’s not how it’s done.”
-
You will say: “That’s not how you do it.”
#DhandheKaFunda: If you are doing what everyone else is doing, you are already behind. The only way to win is to write your own rules.
